Honing Our SkillsWe have now uploaded quite a bit of NPSN's, and we are starting to nail the process. Writing the script has become much easier. Matt has gotten a lot better at editing the video. And overall, we are becoming more and more creative. We are having a lot of fun. Each episode is becoming better and better. A lot of positive feedback is coming our way. We are limiting a lot of the mistakes we made in the beginning. We have people coming up to us in school and even out in the community and suggesting ideas to us! It is an incredible thing to be apart of. I am so glad that we can bring the spotlight onto all of New Palestine's great athletes. Next SemesterWe are going to keep doing most of the things we already have been doing. We love what we are doing. That passion is still there. We have some tricks up our sleeves for this next semester. I am not going to say exactly what, but it is going to be a great finish to the year. We have a ton of great ideas that we still want to bring to life. I can't wait!

Hitting Our Stride!Ezra, Matt, and I are doing really well with our various projects. The winter sports are starting up, and so we have more things to do now than we did a few weeks ago. We are also doing really well with our NPSN videos. We have made a couple of them, and have received a lot of great feedback. We've had a lot of people reach out and tell us how much they love the videos. The superintendent of our school district even retweeted our video! It is super cool to see all of the support from the community. We have a lot of fun making them, and it is a great opportunity to highlight all of our hard-working student athletes. We have kept up our work with the Gameday Graphics, and we plan on doing this for the rest of the year. These graphics are sent to Mr. Smith, who runs the athletic twitter page for NPHS. Future EndeavorsWinter homecoming is coming up soon and we are brainstorming a ton of ideas for what we can do to increase school pride. Right now, we are working on scheduling a Staff vs. Students basketball game that would take place during Homecoming week. We don't have a lot of details yet, but we have some time to get everything figured out.
Collaboration! We worked with another group last week and helped out at the Hope House! We helped Alyse, Elizabeth, and Katie stain a fence at the Hope House. Alaina and Kennedy also tagged along to help. This was a really fun time for an even better cause. Any time there is a chance to give back to the community, we are going to take it up. Especially for such a great cause like the Hope House. More SetbacksOur main project at the moment, NPSN, has hit more setbacks. We originally had a problem with the masks, which forced us to come up with innovative ideas. Mr. Large helped us out, and got us wireless microphones. We thought everything would be smooth after this, but we were wrong. The technology is great, but it produced more problems. The tech we received required even more tech to operate. Not a big deal, but we have to wait a little bit longer to get started. We have everything we need except for one USB cord, including where we are going to film. We are all very excited to start making these videos again.
Set Backs We recorded our first episode of NPSN in the Halls, and it was a smash hit. We got a lot of positive feedback, and it was going really well. We forgot one major component. Masks. We forgot to record the video with our masks up, and because of that we were asked to remove the video from our twitter page. That hurt a lot. We really had a lot of fun making the video, and the student body really enjoyed it. However, now we know. We won't make the same mistake twice. Game-day GraphicsWe are doing really well with the game-day graphics, and getting people out to the games. They are being received well, and we enjoy making them. Here's what some of them look like: T-Shirt SaleWe began selling t-shirts on even days at lunch. We have sold a bunch and given away even more. I have seen a lot of people wearing the shirts around school and even outside of school. I have also seen a lot of shirts being worn at the sporting events. This is great. We are accomplishing what we set out to do. A lot of people like the design. It's really cool to see people wearing the design we created.
BrainstormingMatthew Barada, Ezra Schwier, and I were thinking of a different project ideas. We were having some trouble coming up with an important project that would mean something to all three of us. Then we realized that we all play sports, and we have deep passions for all the sports that we play. We also thought of ways to benefit the school, community, and the students. This brought us to the School Pride Initiative. It is a project about increasing school spirt through athletics. Especially after the COVID year that we had last night, we thought it was imperative to get the ball rolling again. Our GoalsWe want to promote all games, events, and fundraisers, increase school spirit and pride, and create a culture that appreciates all athletes and increases fan engagement. We want to bring attention to ALL athletes. Everyone deserves to have a huge student section and to feel appreciated. We are going to accomplish these goals through cooperation with the athletic department, Twitter, and an old fan favorite known as NPSN. A few students 2 years ago created New Palestine Sports Network, and it was a really fun way to bring exposure to all sports. Pitch DayOur presentation to the Administration went really well. We gave a lot of important information and everybody seemed very invested. The best part was the ridiculous amount of questions and suggestions we received afterwards. It was encouraging to hear that people were interested in the project, and that it meant something to a lot of people. This gives us a lot of motivation to execute our project at a high level.
